Amie, Michael and their little boy Hamish live year-round in the French Alps. Getting married in the mountains they’ve built their life and family around was an obvious choice for them. To host their wedding they chose the charming chalet restaurant, La Pointe de Nyon, at 1,427m on a stunning plateau overlooking the valleys and peaks of the Portes du Soleil.
Amie spent the night before her wedding at The Farmhouse in Morzine. After a calm morning getting ready in the hotel’s elegant Atelier suite, she made a moving entrance into the ceremony. All attention was focussed on the bride and groom, as they said their vows in a beautifully simple and rustic beamed room at La Point de Nyon.
After the ceremony, mischievous children left no rock uncovered as they explored to their hearts’ content, whilst friends and family from far off places relaxed in the countryside setting. The mountain views, chairlifts, traditional wooden huts and free roaming goats, created lots of artistic opportunities for capturing the reactions of the day. In the evening light, a magical atmosphere was created when the guests danced against the striking silhouettes of the mountain peaks.
A real joy to photograph; the whole day felt like it effortlessly captured the essence of the couple and their life in the Alps.
